Girl guides is a movement found worldwide in 1910. It is an organization that constantly gives one new goals to achieve, and that is what life is all about.
After much awaiting our Principal Sr. Elizabeth Rani and our guides teachers organized a guides camp at our school on Friday the 31st of January. Mr Rangammana senior leader and Mrs. Manjula DOC from Coonoor guides camp came to our school to train us. We started with a welcome speech and then the trainers introduced themselves. We were able to learn many things throughout the day. We learnt how to form different types of knots and bandages, we also learnt the procedure and formation for the flag hoisting and also sang many songs. We learnt many more things which we have never been taught before. We worked according to the Guides’ motto. “Be prepared. We also learnt about the founder ‘Barren Powell”. He was an army officer who started the Boy’s scouts in 1907. His sister as mentioned before started the girl Guides in 1910. This session was educative and informative. The camp was a unique and an unforgettable experience. We concluded with the vote of thanks.
We sincerely thank our Principal, our Guides’ trainers, and our teachers’ in-charge of Guides’, for this wonderful and unique experience.
